St Patrick's Parents Association

Image As parents of children in the school you are automatically members of the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) and welcome to attend our meetings which are held at least once a term at the Fairfield Pub, Fairfield Road.

The aims of the PTA are not only fund raising, which is important for the school, but also to strengthen the links between the children of the school as well as their parents. This helps to promote the sense of community in the school.

The types of activities that the PTA promote are varied to appeal to both children and adults alike. In recent years activities for the children have included trips to Fun City, swimming, ten pin bowling and cycling proficiency for the older children. For the adults there are shopping trims to Reedman's at Leeds, Body Shop Evenings, Ceilidhs, meals out as well as the coffee afternoons.

Our new venture for fund raising was class T-Towels, a follow on from the nursery T-Towels. Book bags with the school logo and summer caps are available from any member of the PTA.

The PTA do raise substantial funds for the school and in previous years funds have been used to purchase equipment for the children's use. Your support of the PTA is invaluable whether you come along to our meetings, donate raffle prizes, bake cakes or help out at any of the activities. Without continued parental support we would not be able to raise the funds or offer to support children's activities, the school and the Parish.

Every Friday in the school holiday the Friday Club runs from 11.00am - 1.00pm. There is a different theme every time which covers games, music, sport and dance. Cost is £2 per child. Nursery / pre school children have to be accompanied by an adult.

We do look forward to seeing you at our events and at PTA meetings. New ideas for fund raising and activities are most welcome. The minutes of our meetings are placed in the playground notice board and letters sent out each term so you can keep in touch with all activities.
